Nature Preserves on Hilton Head & Surrounding Areas

The awe-inspiring quiet is hard to believe. The view and surrounding foliage brings the explorer to a halt, a result of both its uniqueness and its beauty.
For a moment, the wanderer fancies a magical adventure in the wetlands of some South American jungle. Then comes the wonderful realization that he is in the Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge, only minutes from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
The wanderer walks the wide cleared trails observing the many diversified species of birds and other wildlife. After strolling around a bend in the road, on the other side of a pond, a community of ibis is enjoying the sunshine and their lunch.
