Annual Back-to-School Expo Event

The Beaufort County School District is teaming up with government agencies and private-sector business partners to hold its annual “Back-to-School Expo” designed to give students and their families a day of fun, food, door prizes and valuable information about the upcoming 2018-19 school year. A number of community service providers will be present to inform parents and students about services available within Beaufort County.

This year’s Expo is set for Saturday, July 28, at the Beaufort-Jasper Academy of Career Excellence, located at 80 Lowcountry Drive in Ridgeland.  The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2

Housing markets across the nation are most assuredly active this summer, and buyer competition is manifesting itself into several quick sales above asking price.  While the strength of the U.S. economy has helped purchase offers pile up, the Fed recently increased the federal funds rate by 0.25 percent, marking the second rate hike this year and seventh since late 2015. Although the 30-year mortgage rate did not increase, buyers often react by locking in at the current rate ahead of assumed higher rates later.
