Darkness fades as the golden rays of the sun angelically illuminate a sea turtle’s incredible tracks, temporarily imprinted through the sand crystals on Hilton Head Island’s beach.   Early risers can experience nature at its finest as the majestic sunrise signals the beginning of a new day filled with hope. Between May and October, beachgoers may have the pleasure of discovering the distinctive tracks left from a sea turtle’s crawl to and from her nest. Hilton Head is fortunate to have four out of seven species of turtles documented in our area.

The best way to see a spectacular turtle nest is to walk along Hilton Head Island’s sandy beaches facing the Atlantic Ocean. You can find this protected turtle nest in Palmetto Dunes Resort.

One of the many attributes of the marvelous South Carolina Lowcountry that visitors and new residents of the area find fascinating is the area’s history.

You can stroll down the lanes of large and small communities, drop into a fifty-year-old restaurant or spend a few hours inside a 177-year-old home. Once in this residence you will experience the culture and history of Bluffton, from inside one of the few structures left standing after the end of the Civil War.

For those who enjoy ‘feeling’ history, visiting some of the historic sites in Bluffton and on Hilton Head Island, the experience is sometimes a bit surreal, like being transported back in time 100, 200 or even 300 years.

Now let your imagination run a little wild and envision living in a…

Election Year Real Estate MarketHow will the outcome of this Presidential election affect housing? The research all points to positives. The Meyers Research group looked at the past 13 election cycles and found an approximate 15% drop in sales activity in the November of a federal election year. But their research notes that “the year after a presidential election is the best of the four-year cycle.” Furthermore, the report states, “This suggests that demand for new housing is not lost because of election uncertainty, rather it gets pushed out to the following year as long as the economy stays on track.”

One piece of the housing puzzle that has been incredibly consistent is interest rates. This week, Freddie Mac reported a twelfth historic low with the average on a 30-year…

Haunted HousesOctober not only brings along crisp fresh air, but is also a time for spooky decorations and Halloween fun!  If your home is on the market, the question on whether or not to go all out with your Halloween decorations usually comes up.  Unlike some holidays, Halloween is usually a lot of exterior decor that can be creepy, spooky and sometimes frightening giving your home a haunted look!!  Our advice during this holiday is to keep it fun and maybe a little on the minimal side.  As potential buyers walk around your home, they may not want to walk through your "graveyard" or large tree spider web.  Keep those chilling scenes out of main walkways.  Pumpkins and Jack-O-Laterns are always fun especially as it starts to get darker earlier in the evening, just…
