Christina Galbreath-GonzalezWe are happy to announce that Christina Galbreath-Gonzalez is the new Broker-in-Charge of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Hilton Head Bluffton Realty Bluffton location. Get to know Christina with this Q&A session:

Why were you selected to lead the Bluffton team?  My role as Office Manager for the past 14 years and working side by side with Randy Smith (BIC of the Hilton Head location) really helped me learn a lot about the Broker-in-Charge role and duties.  He me involved with many transactions of all sizes and shared his knowledge with me.  Combine the hands-on training I received from Randy plus my experience with our agents and real estate, it was a natural promotion for me.

What defines your leadership style?  I received my Bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management and started in the hotel industry which has driven me to be customer focused.  In real estate, especially in a BIC role, I have two sets of customers - our clients and our agents. My goal is to balance the business side of real estate with the personal side of it.   I want our agents to come to me with new ideas and be comfortable sharing concerns and asking for advice.  In my most recent role, I worked on every contract that came into our office so if an agent is struggling with a transaction, there is a good chance we had a similar scenario in the past and I can find a solution that will work.

What are you most excited about in the Bluffton real estate market right now?  Bluffton is a special place that I am fortunate to call home.  I am excited about the enhancements being made in the Old Towne and downtown area.  Its exciting to see that all price points are doing well and how each neighborhood has something unique to offer.

What would your agents say is the thing they like best about working with you?  Let's ask them!

"Christina is a wealth of information and always willing to help her agents in any way."  --John F.

“Christina always takes the time to answer questions and help me with whatever the problem may be.  She is truly a good person and an exceptional leader.”  -- Felice L.

"JOY…that is the word that best describes working with Christina. Why? She always greets you with a smile and a friendly, sincere attitude of 'what can I do to help'—the best service attitude of anyone." -- Barry O.

"Very non-judgemental and asks questions first, which is important as a Broker-in-Charge.  She is patient and professional."  Sarah O.

Christina is such a shining star, all of us wish there were more Christinas on this earth!!!  She can well handle this responsibility, and will do a great job with it." -- Nancy P.

You are one of only 15 female BIC's in the Bluffton market*. What advice do you have for women who are considering a career in real estate or taking the next step to become a broker?  Women are typically great multi-taskers and can handle numerous things going on at once.  In real estate, there is always juggling and coordinating schedules.  My advice to women would be not to second guess themselves whether or not they could do it.  You can!  Join a firm that has the resources and tools to help you succeed and think about what your lead source is.  I am happy to work for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices because of the resources our brand offers, and it’s a highly reputable and trusted name recognized world-wide.

What advice would you give to people moving to the area about how to start their real estate search?  I think everyone starts their search online but my advice would be to talk with an agent to discuss what you are looking for.  We have a variety of neighborhoods with different Homeowners fees, age restrictions, amenities, that without talking to an agent, you might fall in love with a house online in a neighborhood that doesn't work for you.  Many villas/condos have pet restrictions so if you need pet friendly, that is also something to discuss with your agent.  After an initial conversation, you and your agent can focus your online search to find the perfect property.

And just for fun, tell us your favorite breakfast, lunch and dinner spots in Bluffton:  Hands down the Sippin Cow for breakfast!  I love the screened in porch and outside dining options in addition to their delicious food.  For lunch, I am fortunate to have a handful of places within walking distance and every one of them is great but we will start with Bluffton BBQ.  They have a sweet potato casserole that is like eating dessert.  The Cottage has some of the best salads around and a fun and unique atmosphere.  Dinner all depends on the mood, but you can't go wrong with Calhouns, Captain Woodys or Mi Tierras.
