A welcoming atmosphere, flavorful food, and pleasant conversation skillfully unite to give islanders an array of dining venues and one of life’s greatest pleasures! In 2022 most people were happily venturing out, enjoying companionship, and dining at Hilton Head Island's newest restaurants.
160 Lighthouse Road, Sea Pines; (843)842-1999
The 1971 landmark restaurant was remodeled in elegant coastal décor and re-opened its doors on April 6, 2022. The ideal location on the island's southern tip features outstanding views of Calibogue Sound and Harbor Town Golf Link's 18th hole, making it a quintessential dining experience! Their masterfully crafted menu combines fresh seafood and top-notch American cuisine. It offers local specialties such as Hilton Head honey butter, Georgia pecan pie, freshly caught fish from South Carolina, and mushrooms from John's Island.
JINYA Ramen Bar
95 Mathews Drive, Suite F3; (843)715-0691
This Ramen Bar restaurant is the 1st of its kind in South Carolina and a welcome addition to Hilton Head Island. Recently opening in September 2022, it is new, but the Japanese flavors are centuries old and simmered to perfection for 20 hours! The culture of Japan is portrayed within its modern design and 70 seats of indoor dining. Friends can also gather around several outdoor tables and firepit. Their extensive menu has 14 ramen combinations, and the Tonkotsu Black ramen bowl is the most popular.
Mama G's Pizza Bistro and Bar
1533 Fording Island Road, Suite 302, Moss Creek Village; (843)543-6262
This fantastic family-owned and operated trattoria is not your typical pizza parlor. This new restaurant offers authentic Italian pizza baked in an Italforni pizza oven with high-quality ingredients, such as Galbani mozzarella blocks freshly grated. The mouthwatering taste has locals frequently returning with Capo as one of their favorite pizzas. The quant setting lures guests to linger and savor the Charleston gelato, Italian coffee, or a wide selection of amaro.
Public Kitchen and Wine Bar
95 Mathews Drive, Suite B-5; 843-301-3582
The 1920s Speakeasy Craft and Cocktail Lounges inspired the Public Kitchen and Wine Bar’s one-of-a-kind, artsy decor. Locals often enjoy visiting the gallant lounge, known for its talented musicians' performances and evolving entertainment, including music bingo and open mike night. In addition to the lively atmosphere, there are specially created charcuterie boards and numerous tapas, such as deconstructed beef wellington. The chef's homemade desserts are the perfect way to top off the evening!
95 Mathews Drive; (843)715-3196
This charming (and a bit swanky) bakery café is a real treat! As you enter, the delightful aroma of hot-out-of-the-oven bread awakes your senses! The variety of original salads, fresh baguette sandwiches, and loaded croissants make this an ideal spot for lunch or dinner. The talented chefs at Parris Baguette make the food look as good as it tastes, so why settle for a slice of berry cheesecake when you can take home the entire delicious cake?
Celeste Coastal Cuisine
20 Hatton Place, Unit 300; (843)802-4744
Celeste is a vibrant, upscale restaurant with fine dining in a relaxed ambiance. The remodeled dining area and lounge have a refreshing, luxurious environment in a convenient mid-island location. The original menu choices range from avocado grit cake to seafood empanadas; with so many tempting selections, there is something special for every palate.
