What began as Armistice Day, a time to reflect on the heroism and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in service to the country during World War I, is now Veterans Day. On this day we honor and respect the sacrifices and service of all those who have served in the defense of our country and our way of life. Because of the patriotism and selfless actions of our veterans we continue to enjoy the freedoms of a democratic society.
On this day we should all take a moment to appreciate the choices given to us by our forefathers and preserved for us by our veterans. Join in the Annual Veteran’s Day Parade in Beaufort starting at 10AM or the Veteran’s Day Ceremony at Memorial Park in Shelter Cove at 10:30AM.
To all those who have served, in all branches of our military, in all wars, we celebrate your patriotism and thank you for your willingness to sacrifice for our common good.
