The Hilton Head Island Town Council is proceeding with acquiring land along Marshland
and Wildhorse Roads for the development of two neighborhood parks. Plans are on
track to break ground in early 2025.
The first acquisition is a 3.65-acre parcel on Marshland Road for the future Patterson
Family Park. Features will include a pavilion and grilling areas. There will be an elevated
platform overlooking Broad Creek, interactive educational elements as well as trails for
biking and walking. Plans also include a designated playground area, seating and an
open lawn area.
The second acquisition adjoins the Town’s existing property and will expedite the
development of the Taylor Family Park, including a planned future pathway. Proposed
plans include a playground, interactive educational features, swings, gardens and lawn.
Grilling areas, pavilion and a history trail complete the park’s proposed design elements.
