Hilton Head Christian Academy relocated in 2021 to a modern and spacious campus at 3008 Bluffton Parkway and offered bussing to transport students to and from the island. , Since 1979 the school has taught quality academic and spiritual classes. HHCA provides multi-level courses, including AP and CP.  Students can participate in 16 extra-curricular activities, fine arts, and award-winning athletics.

 Hilton Head Preparatory School has an impressive campus at 8 Fox Grape Road in Sea Pines and provides a challenging curriculum with AP, CP, and college-level courses. The school has 29 teams for ten different sports.  The extra-curricular activities include multiple clubs, organizations, the arts, and community service.

St. Francis Catholic School is a private catholic school located mid-island at 45 Beach City Road that focuses on its students' spiritual and intellectual growth. They offer a variety of faith, family, service, and fellowship activities and nine athletic teams.

Sea Pines Montessori Academy moved to 9 Fox Grape Road in 1977. Beginning in 1968, the Montessori school was one of the first nonprofit education sites on the island. The school was formed by Mary Stone Fraser, the wife of Charles Fraser, the founder of Sea Pines, because she believed in the school’s hands-on, independent learning style. This long-lasting school started with 33 students in a tree house restaurant in Sea Pines and has expanded to include the arts, music, clubs, and more.

 Cross Schools is a slightly further option at 495 Buckwalter Parkway, Bluffton. Since 2018 it has repeatedly received the Best Private School Award and strives for inquisitive learning, service, and faith in God. Cross Schools offers 26 clubs and activities, including gardening, praise teams, robotics, and sports.

 Heritage Academy is a growing private school located at 11 New Orleans Road. Since its inception in 1993, the school’s prominent academics finish near lunchtime, allowing students time to pursue individual passions such as sailing, golf, tennis, and more. Their foremost goal is to provide students with a quality education while fostering interests in animals, gardening, sports, clubs, and arts.

 Island Academy of Hilton Head is a small private school located mid-island at 5 Dunmore Court. Island Academy is an innovative school with personalized curriculums in a small group setting.
