After graduating from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Business in 1978, I moved to Hilton Head Island to work with Lancaster Resort Rentals and Sales. In 1979, I received my Real Estate Brokers License and in 1985 I went to work as a full-time sales agent acting as Broker in Charge of the Sales department.

On a professional level, I was elected as President of the Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors for 2002 and now serve as President of the Multiple Listing Service of Hilton Head for 2004 through 2007. In addition, I have served on the state level as a State Director for the South Carolina Association of Realtors in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2007.

My earlier experience with rental management has given me insight into the needs and desires of the real estate investor. With over 28 years of experience in this market, I can help the investor find the property that is right for their particular level of investment and determine the best time to sell or exchange. Since 1990 I have earned the Distinguished Sales Award every year.

In 2004, I was elected President of the Multiple Listing Service of Hilton Head Island and I remain as President of the MLS today.

Prior to moving to Hilton Head Island in 1986, I received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and earned a master’s degree in business administration from Texas State University.

Fishing was (and still is) my passion and Hilton Head was a dream come true for me. I was young and arrived here with a car, some clothes in a suitcase and a brown sofa I had in college. I wasn’t sure what I would do, but I knew that I loved this island and that I was here to stay. I received my real estate sales license in 1987, met the girl with whom I would spend the rest of my life in 1988 and was married in 1989. Our son was born in 1998.

As my life has evolved through these years, so, too, has the island. Major changes in the real estate industry have taken place, but my methods haven’t. I am committed to my family and to my profession and my ethics do not waver. I provide comprehensive service to my clients concerning not only real estate but also the community as a whole. I know the land, the very different communities and who and what comprises them, the business owners and their families. Hilton Head is my home. It is a beautiful place to live, rear a family, work, retire.

Living my entire life in rural Virginia, but spending every summer on Hilton Head Island caused me to fall in love with the low country. However, after learning about the unique real estate opportunities available on Hilton Head, coupled with the endless amounts of recreational pursuits, I decided to call it home. I enjoy kayaking, fishing, and traveling to all points on the map. However, no matter where I go, I smile on the way back knowing I am headed to Hilton Head. Before arriving at Lancaster Resort Sales, I graduated from the University of Richmond. While at the University of Richmond, I received many accolades and awards for my academic endeavors. I also received my real estate sales license in both Virginia and South Carolina. As a Realtor in college, I was also a public school educator and Brand Representative for both Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister retail stores, helping to construct and plan the layouts for many of their locations.

After graduation I drove straight down I-95 to Hilton Head, became engaged, and have been here ever since! My experience on this island has given me the insight into where the next great investment lies for each of my clients. I am a member of the Hilton Head Board of Realtors, along with the state and national boards as well. I am constantly updated on the latest sales and marketing techniques and have a major interest in applying these concepts to assist clients in buying and selling real estate. Above all, I truly value the satisfaction and happiness of every client. As a rule, I listen to and absorb their wants and needs and model my property searches after exactly that.
